 Overview

Mr. Goodman specializes in the procurement and enforcement of intellectual property.  With three years of legal experience, and a broad range of working experiences in a number of technical areas, Mr. Goodman is uniquely qualified to handle complex technical and intellectual property matters.

Mr. Goodman’s current practice focuses on preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a wide variety of technical arts including automotive transmissions and engine systems, electromechanical systems, software controls, and medical devices.

Mr. Goodman conducts freedom-to-practice, infringement, and invalidity investigations, and searches and assists in various other intellectual property legal issues within patent law.

Mr. Goodman began his career at Ford Motor Company in the Advanced Powertrain Engineering department in 2001.  While attending the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor (B.S. Physics), he interned at a firm specializing in civil rights issues.  After graduating from the University of Michigan in 2005, Mr. Goodman worked as an Information Technology professional for five years before pursuing his legal education at Indiana University – Maurer School of Law (J.D. 2013), where he focused on intellectual property legal matters and served as the Editor-in-Chief of the IP Theory journal.  During and after law school, Mr. Goodman worked for a large medical device company where he performed patent searches, wrote patent applications, and provided legal and strategic analysis of the company’s patent portfolio.
